Happy Monday!

"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love."

Not an MLK Quote

I know everyone's been having a fabulous time posting Martin Luther King Jr. quotes today, and while it is timely and there are quite a few greats to choose from, I thought I'd go in a different direction.

A friend posted this on Facebook and I had to share. I love Roald Dahl and I especially love this quote of his. For reference, the photo I backed it on was taken by me in Africa, during one of those beautiful sunsets and a moment of the utmost calm.

May every moment count the way you hoped it to and may sunbeams be shooting out of your face today.

Pinterest Quote Inspiration

I realize this has been a cop out of a week.

Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to write much, ok? What I have been doing is drawing inspiration from quotes, from photos, from people I love and from people I don't know who have managed to do or create amazing things that is true to who and what they are.

So I'm sure it doesn't surprise you I'm a Pinterest junky. Especially when it comes to quotes done in a beautiful way. I guess we could consider the following a "repin" overdose... I couldn't help myself.

And you know how much I love inspired typography. I'm salivating over the font used for the first highlight (as well as the grey and yellow color combo. HELLO, beautiful!).

I think the last quote is my favorite... Which is yours?

Happy Friday, everyone. Countdown to Africa: T-minus 7 days!

Another Quote, Still Blocked Wordwise

He said a lot of great things, didn't he? I'm kind of kicking myself for only getting obsessed after he met his maker, but live and learn, n'est pas? So much of what that man spoke passionately about was living for what makes your heart truly happy, what makes your heart sing. Not settling for just getting by and putting up with what the world tells you you deserve.

Even though I'm reading these quotes and not being told, they have struck a chord about what it means to live as if you only have one shot. One chance. And settling for me is not an option anymore.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

A Thursday Quote

"Sometimes I go about pitying myself. And all the while I am being carried on the great winds across the sky."
